Too Comfortable to Care

Too Comfortable to Care

Too Comfortable to Care

Looking around and observing the actions and inactions of others (myself included), it feels like we have gotten too comfortable to care.  Have you ever paused and asked yourself if you've gotten too comfortable?

Maybe it’s at home giving your kids an easy pass instead of pushing them to grow. Maybe it’s at work just clocking in, staying in your normal routine and environment, and possibly keeping your head down to avoid conversations that could lead to change or a new perspective.  Maybe it’s in the world around you, tuning things out because they don’t directly impact you.

It’s easy to overlook struggles that aren’t our own., but when something finally does hit close to home like our finances, our security, or our way of life, that’s when we start paying attention. Why does it take a stock market drop, a job loss, or a personal setback for some of us to care?

Comfort isn’t always a bad thing, but when it stops us from growing, questioning, or considering the well-being of others, that's when it becomes problematic.  Where have you gotten comfortable...too comfortable to care? What’s one small step you can take to shift that today?

Let’s talk about it. Drop a comment and share your thoughts. And if this resonates, share it with someone who needs to hear it too.
